We aim to develop a prosperous economy and create increased employment in Torbay for a more sustainable future.  The Torbay Development Agency (TDA) plays a key role in the delivery of this and the TDA board has agreed 12 key objectives – a brief outline is given below, for further details see our Corporate Plan.

• Create and manage development projects to regenerate key areas
• Continue implementation of the Tourism Marketing Strategy
• In support of tourism, provide the infrastructure and resource to expand events and attractions
• Tourism research to further identify and quantify tourist motivation
• Develop the retail offer of Torbay both as a generator of wealth and employment
• Develop community relationships to integrate project development with local community needs
• Develop integration of all Council functions that contribute to the overall quality of life in Torbay
• Promote the Bay as a unique selling proposition for Torbay via a Torbay Maritime Strategy
• Develop a programme of training, customer focus and related quality-assurance for all Torbay businesses, especially those related to tourism
• Integrate training development with South Devon College and other providers and key community representatives
• Promote the improvement of access to Torbay
• Placing learning at the heart of our community
