The Nationality Checking Service is a service provided by the County Council in partnership with the Home Office, Immigration and Nationality Directorate for applicants for British Citizenship.

Advisers are able to:

• provide blank application forms
• check that application forms have been completed correctly
• check that all relevant documents are present
• check that the correct fee has been submitted
• photocopy valuable documents, such as passports, and marriage certificates
• certify the copies and return the originals to the applicant
• forward original documents directly to Nationality Group relating to the Life in the UK test of English requirement
• forward applications to Nationality Group by special delivery.

Fees:

• Adult (over 18) - single application         £35
• Husband and wife living together who apply at the same time         £ 50
• Husband and wife and up to 2 children         £60
• Additional children on parents' application         £15 per child
• 1 or more children under the age of 18 who apply separately from their parents         £15 per child
