As part of the Government's 'Modernising Local Government agenda' there is a huge emphasis placed on Electronic Service Delivery (ESD). Local Authorities have been set targets to identify services, which can be delivered electronically. From those that can be delivered electronically, 25% must be possible by 2002 and 100% by 2005. The Government will be providing additional financial resources to support Local Authorities work in achieving these targets.
