St Marychurch and District Community Partnership Questionnaire summer 2010

This questionnaire has been compiled and produced by the Community Partnership*  members in order to identify your concerns, needs and wants regarding development within our local area.  This is your chance to have your say on how our area moves forward; we need your input and ideas!
If you need any assistance with this questionnaire please contact Tracey Cabache on 208831
As you are probably aware, following the publicity given to the recent attempt to develop a site on Babbacombe Downs your Community Partnership now has a more visible profile within Torbay.  The St Marychurch and District Community Partnership is run by local volunteers who want to improve the quality of life in St Marychurch, Babbacombe, Plainmoor and Maidencombe. Anyone who lives or works in these areas can be a member.
We are here to encourage the development of the local area  in as positive a way as possible and not to be negative or against all Council proposals therefore we are giving all Residents, Traders and visitors to the local area  the opportunity to have an input on it's development and amenities.  We are asking you to give us your suggestions for how St Marychurch, Babbacombe, Plainmoor and Maidencombe can move forward and take their rightful places as popular and significant areas of Torbay.
Some suggestions include:  encouraging the return of local post offices; developing a central GP and health care facility in the GA Building, on St Marychurch Road (Precinct end); Developing amenities to reduce 'leakage' of shoppers to the Willows; covering St Marychurch precinct to allow 'all weather' shopping; encouraging 'market' days; or introducing a one way system on some roads? These are just a few ideas and we would appreciate your comments and your suggestions.
Chris Howell
Chairman, St Marychurch and District Community Partnership
