TAPA (Torbay Academy of Performing Arts)
This is the name under which Torbay Council’s Music Activities for young people are organised. These include the Schools’ Festival of Performing Arts in the spring; The Torbay Sinfonietta Summer Concert Series for Schools; Youth Ensembles and Orchestras; Whole Class Instrumental Tuition for primary schools; support for musical instrument lessons; instrument hire; provision of bursaries and grants; and much more.
We are commited to working in partnership with local Music providers. Therefore, where we do not provide the activity you are looking for, we can usually point you in the right direction. Please contact us with any queries. If you are a local Music Provider and you are interested in working with us, please get in touch also.

- Torbay Schools’ Festival of Performing Arts – This event in 2011 was a great success with over two thousand performers experiencing the excitement and achievement associated with performing. 2012’s festival will take place from 22 February until 1 March.
- Fast Forward @ Torbay and South Devon Music Centre provides the opportunity for young people who have just begun learning to play an instrument, either on their own or with their class at primary school, to continue to learn to play in a group situation.
