Torbay Street Wardens - Picture of the Street Warden's team. Visit our Gallery.

Our Street Wardens are employed by the Environment Directorate of Torbay Council and look after specific communities within Torbay. They spend the vast majority of their time in their communities, patrolling their neighbourhood, meeting residents or organising projects. They offer a visible presence in the streets they patrol and help maintain public reassurance.

Their duties range from passing on information, giving advice to running community projects with the aim to involve the local community, tackle specific issues such as litter and helping to build a sense of pride in their neighbourhoods. Street Wardens are not replacements for police officers, so any issue of criminal damage or violence should still be reported to the police.

Street Wardens work with a wide range of agencies and departments to help the local community, reduce anti social behaviour, improve the street environment and increase public reassurance.
