Bay Walks
Bay Walks is a programme of walks and activities designed for improved health in the Bay. A group of interested people have worked together on this programme including; representatives of Torbay coast and Countryside Trust, The Primary Care Trust, Groundwork Trust/ Torbay Council Partnership and most importantly local residents.
Join a Led walk
It's more fun and sociable to walk with others people so why not join a free walk with "Bay Walks", discover interesting and beautiful parts of the Bay, enjoy the view and feel healthier in all ways. Whether you are looking to improve your health or would like to meet new people, all are welcome.
Please note: Not all walks are suitable for dogs. Some walks are suitable for wheelchairs.
All these walks are run weekly. If, for any reason, the Leader cannot attend, he/she will endeavour to obtain cover or inform the group (often groups decide to go ahead with the walk anyway!).
For more information about Bay Walks please contact Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust.
Become a Volunteer Walk Leader
We are looking to develop a programme of walks for all abilities. So whether you like relaxed easy walks or more vigorous walking and would like to lead a group on your own favourite walk please contact us. Training given and everyone is welcome

Local people and health services providers work together to act as ambassadors for the project in their agencies and provide practical help and support to the Bay Walks Project Manager.
Bay Walks is funded as part of the
Walking the Way to Health Initiative (WHI) which is an initiative of the
British Heart Foundation and the
Natural England. It benefits from extra funding from the New Opportunities Fund and sponsorship from Kia Cars as part of their 'Think Before You Drive' campaign. The initiative aims to improve the health and fitness of more than a million people, especially those who do little exercise or who live in areas of poor health.
Bay Walks was also funded by the Torbay Partnership Committee.
