What is myplace? What are the aims of the programme?

Aiming high for young people: a ten year strategy for positive activities set out the Government’s vision for improving youth facilities in response to clear ongoing demand from young people, parents and communities for more and better places for young people to go. It set an ambition for new and improved places to go in all areas of the country over the next ten years.

The aim of myplace is to deliver world class youth facilities driven by the active participation of young people and their views and needs.

Have Your Say

In 2008, we gave out questionnaires within schools and youth facilities, to ask young people what they wanted in a youth facility. We listened to what you wanted.

The Bay6 consultation group have been designing and planning your ideas and would like to hear your views! Below is a questionnaire you can download and see a preview of the site, its logo and other cool stuff. You can also see what the site looks like now if you click on the gallery link below.

Parkfield BMX and Skate Board Track

Want to know more about the BMX and Skate Board track at the new £4.875 million Youth Centre?

Come along to the Victoria Park Youth Centre on Wednesday 11 August from 12pm - 3pm or 3.30pm - 6pm.

MyPlace gets the go ahead with confirmed funding from BIG Lottery Fund

Torbay Council has received confirmation of the £4,875,000 grant from the Myplace BIG Lottery Fund on behalf of the Department of Children, Schools and Families (DCSF).

MyPlace Planning Permission unanimously approved

Planning Permission has now been granted for MyPlace. Work is due to start on site at the end of May 2010, to be completed by the end of August 2011.
