ADHD

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and attention deficit disorder (ADD) refers to a range of problem behaviours associated with poor attention span.
Children mainly males, are more likely to be affected and usually show these symptoms.
  • Inattention (i.e. difficulty concentrating)
  • Hyperactivity (disorganized, fidgeting, excessive levels of activity)
  • Impulsive behavior
  • In adolescents or adults only feelings of restlessness may occur
  • Forgetfulness
  • Poor impulse control
These are some of the main symtoms but it still can be hard to reconise because most people can show one or two of these symptoms, but not to a point where it starts to interfere with their life such as work or relationships.
ADHD is most commonly diagnosed in children and, over the past decade, has been increasingly diagnosed in adults. About 60% of children diagnosed with ADHD retain the condition as adults.
