Parking Dispensation Notices

It is important to acknowledge that many of Torbay’s roads are very busy at different times of the day. This means that the situation for delivery and servicing can never be perfect. If you are carrying out work or services to premises in Torbay requiring constant access to your vehicle/tools (i.e. where constant access to tools or materials in the vehicle is needed such as a carpet fitter where carpets are stored or a glazier where glass is stored) and need to park for longer than the permitted stay in a limited waiting bay or on a yellow line, you are able to apply in advance for a Parking Dispensation Notice for a specific location.

If more than one vehicle is required on site a separate Parking Dispensation Notice should be obtained for each vehicle (subject to street space).

A Parking Dispensation Notice is not intended for those who will not require constant access to their vehicle, such as a labourer who will work on site but not require bulky tools or raw materials from the vehicle. This person should seek to drop off tools and then park legally. Parking Dispensation Notices are usually only issued to vehicles of transit size or over.

The Council has the authority to issue a Parking Dispensation Notice which will allow a vehicle to park on a yellow line or in a parking bay for a specified period of time. The Council is also entitled to charge for dispensations and has set a charge to reflect the cost of administration of this service.

Cost and Method of Payment

• A £5.00 administration fee applies to each notice issued (from 1 to 21 days)
• Cost to park of £5.00 per day up to a maximum charge per week of £25.00

    e.g. Notice for 1 day will cost £10.00 - £5.00 administration fee and £ 5.00 to park
          Notice for 3 days will cost £20.00 - £5.00 administration fee and £15.00 to park
          Notice for 7 days will cost £30.00 - £5.00 administration fee and £25.00 to park
          Notice for 14 days costs £55.00 - £5.00 administration fee and £50.00 (2 wksx£25.00)
          Notice for 21 days costs £80.00 - £5.00 administration fee and £75.00 (3 wksx£25.00)

Applying for a Parking Dispensation Notice

• An Application form can be completed and debit/credit card payment made on-line at any time of day. If you experience any issues when completing this form please contact Parking Services.
• A minimum of one working day’s notice (Monday-Friday) is required for the issue of a Dispensation Notice and applications must be submitted before 16:00. Please note Notices can not be issued for the same day. Notices asked for on the day will be declined.
• If you do not have access to the internet to complete an on-line application form and make payment, please contact Parking Services on 01803 207660 or visit your local Connections Office. Notices asked for on the day will be declined
• An application form and debit/credit card payment can be completed at Connections offices in Torquay, Paignton and Brixham (please check opening times). Notices asked for on the day will be declined.
