Interim Authority Notice

A premises Licence will normally remain in force for as long as the licence holder continues to operate the business. In the event that the premises licence holder is unable to operate the business, by virtue of insolvency, death or mental incapacitation, persons with an interest in the premises or connected to the licence holder, can give an ‘Interim Authority Notice’ to the Licensing Authority.
The ‘Interim Authority Notice’ must be made in the prescribed form and a specimen ‘Interim Authority Notice’, ‘Form U’ can be found below.

Applications

You are able to apply online or alternatively an printable application form can be downloaded.
If you have not had a response to your application within 10 working days, please contact Torbay Licensing Authority by E-mail: licensing@torbay.gov.uk or Telephone: 01803 208126.
The ‘Interim Authority Notice’ has the effect of temporarily reinstating the premises licence, therefore permitting the business to continue operating until such time as a transfer of the premises licence can be processed.
An ‘Interim Authority Notice’ only has effect for a period of two months from the date of service, which under normal circumstances will be sufficient time to process a premises licence transfer application.
The fee for the processing of an ‘Interim Authority Notice’ is £23.00,
The Licensing Team are able to give you a wealth of advice to assist you with applications and queries in respect of the Licensing process.  Their aim is to provide you with help and assistance to ensure that your application is dealt with as expediently as possible.  However, they cannot assist you if you do not contact them!  A range of information is also available from Torbay Council offices and at Connections please make full use of these resources.
