Torbay Council is committed to tackling rough sleeping in Torbay. We work in partnership with other agencies to keep the number of people sleeping rough in Torbay as low as possible.
Where can I go for help?
You can contact the homeless outreach service which is run by Shekinah Mission with Shekinah Torbay. You can contact the outreach team by Tel: 07872600534.
They will meet you at a place suitable for you.
They can give you advice on:
- Housing
- Drug and Alcohol Issues
- Benefits
- Health Issues
They will refer you to other agencies which can help or you can drop into Project 58, 4-8 Temperance Street, Torquay.

The surgery offers a drop-in service on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12.30 to 1.30 pm. There is no need to make an appointment.

What will the Council do?
We will:
- Talk to you about your housing options
- Offer advice about benefits
- Discuss any health issues you have, including drug and alcohol issues
- Refer you to other agencies in Torbay who can help
We will talk to you about whether you would benefit from support to help you find and move into accommodation. This could be either supported accommodation or floating support where a worker visits you at home. If we agree you need support, we will put you in touch with the Referral HUB and they will find you supported accommodation or floating support.
