Regional Strategies have been Revoked

Regional Strategies were revoked by the Coalition Government in July 2010. A letter setting out guidance for local planning authorities dated 6 July 2010 is attached in the related documents below.
The revokation of Regional Strategies returns decision making powers on matters such as housing targets and strategic planning to local authorities. Such matters will now be addressed by the Core Strategy. A stakeholder workshop on the Core Strategy took place on 1 October 2010 (see related pages). It is intended to publish the Core Strategy for formal (Regulation 27) consultation in early 2011.
