The Nationality Checking Service is a service provided by the County Council in partnership with the Home Office, Immigration and Nationality Directorate for applicants for British Citizenship.

- provide blank application forms
- check that application forms have been completed correctly
- check that all relevant documents are present
- check that the correct fee has been submitted
- photocopy valuable documents, such as passports, and marriage certificates
- certify the copies and return the originals to the applicant
- forward original documents directly to Nationality Group relating to the Life in the UK test of English requirement
- forward applications to Nationality Group by special delivery.
