Eden Foodservice provide catering to a total of 24 primary schools and 1 special school within a central contract that commenced on 1 September 2009. All children have the opportunity of choosing a school meal and over 360,000 meals were supplied to pupils during the last year. Of the meals supplied to children 52% were to paying pupils.
The School Meal Service ensures that freshly produced meals are available each day of the school year. This will include hot and cold dishes, vegetarian options and catering for special diets. Every day there is the option of fresh salad, fresh fruit or yoghurt.

Food for Life Bronze AwardSoil Associations, Food for Life Award

Torbay Council is pleased to announce that our contract caterer, Eden Foodservice has been successful in being awarded the Soil Associations, Food for Life Bronze Award for their catering provision.
Our contract with Eden Foodservice covers 24 primary and one special school.
The award provides an independent guarantee that Eden’s menu has been audited by the Soil Association and that what is offered on the menu is freshly prepared using at least 75% fresh ingredients, free from undesirable additives and is better for animal welfare. Free range eggs and fresh milk are also used thorough out our recipes.
A number of locally sourced fruit and vegetables, fair trade bananas and pineapples and organic ingredients such as carrots, broccoli, cabbage and beetroot are also currently featured on the menu
