Business Hub

Torbay Development Agency is promoting exciting plans for a modern office building in the heart of Torquay which it is hoped can be delivered through the new local asset backed venture partnership.

The Business Hub will be located to the rear of the Torquay Town Hall, a site which has been allocated for office development for over 20 years. A viable proposal has never been achieved therefore the TDA and the Council have proposed this new scheme to act as a catalyst for investment.
Findings from the property market show that modern occupiers demand a range of features that the current accommodation in the centre of Torquay can no longer provide. It is therefore hoped that a scheme will attract inward investment and the opportunity for local firms to grow within a quality environment. Extra workers in the centre of Torquay will support the local economy.
The building will comprise approximately 3,300 sq m of office accommodation over four floors. It is anticipated that the ground floor units will provide an active frontage attracting users who require an element of public accessibility such as finance and legal.
The building has been designed to achieve sustainability rating (BREEAM opens in a new window Excellent) and incorporates features that include PV panels, solar controlled glazing and natural ventilation.
The TDA have produced an exciting 'fly through' animation which indicates how the building could look together with the internal accommodation. Further information is contained in the flyer in the Downloadable Documents.
